Description: BexarMet Water District Women’s Pipe Tapping Team is preparing to defend their State Championship title against teams from across the state at the Texas Water Conference on April 7 in Fort Worth. The pipe-tapping competition measures the accuracy, speed and safety of the team as they race against the clock. Teams manually drill into an 18-foot, cement-lined ductile iron pipe and install a tap without any leaks. Unlike their competitors who regularly work in the field installing pipes, the BexarMet “Office Girls” all work in office positions. The team also is currently ranked third nationally.
