Stage Two restrictions are triggered by BexarMet and the City of San Antonio when the daily level of the Edwards Aquifer reaches 650.0 feet above mean sea level or if required by the BexarMet Drought Contingency Plan.

Watering with an irrigation system, hose-end sprinkler or soaker hose is permitted only once per week on the designated watering day during the hours of 3 A.M. to 8 A.M. and 8 P.M. to 10 P.M.:

• Irrigation variance required for establishing new landscapes, but new landscapes are highly discouraged until conditions are more favorable. Variances are for new landscapes only and last three (3) weeks from the date that the landscape is installed.
• Washing impervious surfaces such as parking lots, driveways, streets or sidewalks is prohibited unless for human health and safety.
• Charity car washes must be held at commercial car wash facilities only.
• Citizens are encouraged to wash their cars no more than twice per month. Washing cars at home is permitted only during the Stage 2 hours on the designated watering day with a positive shut-off hose. Water runoff onto streets is prohibited.
• Private swimming pools must be covered at least 25% when not in use to reduce evaporation.  Use inflatable pool toys or specialized covers to reduce evaporation. 

Stage 2 restrictions continue for at least 30 days until there is an announcement that Stage 2 has been cancelled or that Stage 3 is in effect.
