TCEQ Fee - All Classes***

Calculated as 0.005 times the total of the "BMWD Water Charge" found on the water bill plus $0.18 increase by TCEQ. The BMWD Water Charge is a combination of the Volumetric Charge plus the Capacity Reservation Fee.

* The Capacity Reservation Fee

Offsets the costs that BexarMet incurs in getting water to the service location. This fee is combined with the Volumetric Charge on the BexarMet bill and does not appear by itself unless water was not used at the location during the billing period.

** The Water Supply Fee

Formerly System Improvement Fee pays for costs that BexarMet incurs for existing water supply agreements and for acquiring new alternative water resources that enable the District to further reduce its dependence on the Edwards Aquifer. Specifically, this fee funds various water development programs, including: Bexar Metropolitan Water Development Corporation - lease, Canyon Regional Water Authority Agreement, Bexar Medina Atascosa Counties Water Control and Improvement District (BMA) Water Purchase Agreement, Water Exploration Company (WECo) Water Purchase Agreement and other water supply agreements.

*** The EAA Management Fee and the TCEQ Fee

Fee are pass-through fees that go to pay for regulatory assessments made by the EAA (Edwards Aquifer Authority), Trinity Glenrose Groundwater Conservation District and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
