Benefits
BexarMet offers the best benefits in the industry. Our benefits set us apart from other companies. Please be aware that these are brief descriptions and our benefit plans are governed by the plan documents. In case of a conflict between these descriptions and the plan documents, the plan documents will prevail.
Bereavement:
Full time employees with at least three (3) months of employment receive three (3) consecutive days with paid leave to arrange for and/or attend the funeral of an immediate family member.
Employee Assistance Program:
This program is designed to provide assistance to employees who are experiencing personal problems that affect, or may have the potential to affect, their work performance.
Holidays:
Full time employees receive holiday pay. BexarMet recognizes 11 to 12 paid holidays in each calendar year.
Life Insurance:
BexarMet provides all full-time employees with coverage of 1x their salary plus $15,000.
Long-Term Disability:
This provides financial protection for our employees by paying a portion of their income while the employee is disabled. The amount the employee receives is based on the amount earned before the disability began.
Medical and Dental Coverage:
We provide medical insurance coverage at no cost to employees and their dependents. Dental coverage is offered to employees at no cost as well. The coverage is effective upon completion of the 90 days probation period. The plan offered to all employees is the Preferred Provider (PPO) plan.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D):
BexarMet provides a payment of $100,000 for AD&D.
Pharmacy:
Our health insurance offers a prescription benefit when you obtain your prescription from a participating pharmacy. A thirty (30) days supply may be dispensed by a local pharmacy; a mail order benefit is available for the same co-pay for up to a ninety (90) days supply.
Retirement:
To help employees prepare for retirement, all full time BexarMet employees with at least three (3) months of service and at least 21 years of age participate in the 457 Plan. The 457 Plan is a tax-deferred plan in which the employee contributes a minimum of 5% of his or her pay to a tax-deferred fund. BexarMet matches up to 5% of the employee's contributions to the 457 Plan.
Sick Leave:
BexarMet provides paid sick leave to assure continued income to full time employees during periods of personal illness or disability in the amount of twelve days per year.
Tuition Assistance:
Full time employees are eligible for tuition assistance.
Vacation Leave:
Full time employees receive paid vacation days based on their years of employment. The employee is eligible for the vacation accrued during the previous year.
