BexarMet Drought Contingency Plan

The BexarMet Drought Contingency Plan is a means for BexarMet to enact
protections for the water supply in the event of emergencies, drought
or other threats to the water supply.  These protections may be
activated even if aquifer levels are high enough to not warrant
restrictions during normal conditions.  The Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality requires that all water utilities have drought
contingency plans with triggers for water use restrictions based on
certain qualifying criteria.

The BexarMet Drought Plan contains three levels (click to read):

Level 1:  Mild Water Shortage / Drought Conditions
Level 2:  Chronic Water Shortage / Drought Conditions
Level 3:  Emergency or Acute Water Shortage / Drought Conditions

Restrictions within the drought plan are identified by LEVELS.  Restrictions in the aquifer management
plan are STAGES.
