Critical Period Water Restriction Stages

During periods of drought or drops in the aquifer levels, one of the main providers of water to BexarMet, the Edwards Aquifer Authority, implements mandatory water restrictions in order to maintain sufficient water levels. BexarMet and the City of San Antonio have conservation plans in place that restrict water usage based on the restriction levels of groups such as the Edwards Aquifer Authority. There are three stages of Critical Period restrictions outlined below:

Stage 1 Restrictions

Stage 2 Restrictions

Stage 3 Restrictions

BexarMet also has a Demand Management Plan that provides triggers for restrictions on water usage within the system based on emergency shortages, excess demand, or equipment failures.
