BexarMet Switch and Save Toilet Programs

  • Toilets can account for almost 30 percent of all indoor water use, more than any other fixture or appliance.
  • Replacing older, larger-use toilets (3.5-7 gallons per flush) with newer models (1.6 gallons per flush or less) can result in significant savings.
  • Check periodically to make sure the flush and fill components in the tank are working properly.
  • Rebate program available for residential accounts only.
  • Free toilets are residential style ONLY.
  • Customers are responsible for proper installation of new toilet(s) and disposal of old toilet(s).
  • Free toilet program available to residential and commercial (small businesses, non-profits, churches) BexarMet water customers.
  • Only homes and businesses constructed prior to 1992 are eligible for toilet rebates or free toilets.

BEXARMET SWITCH AND SAVE TOILET REBATE PROGRAM
If you have purchased a water-efficient toilet within the past year to replace an old, pre-1992 toilet, you may be eligible for a $75 rebate on the water bill per toilet (up to 2 toilets).  You may call customer service at (210) 922-1221 to request an application or DOWNLOAD THE TOILET REBATE APPLICATION BY CLICKING HERE.

BEXARMET SWITCH AND SAVE FREE TOILET PROGRAM
The 2010 BexarMet Free Toilet Program will begin distributing toilets on May 1, 2010.  CLICK HERE to download the 2010 residential free toilet application.  Call BexarMet Water Efficiency at (210) 354-6513 for more information.

  • If you are a small business, church or non-profit with residential-style toilets, contact the Water Efficiency Department at (210) 357-5705 for information on toilets available.  Commercial applicants will be handled on a case-by-case basis and a limited number are available in this first-time offering.  DO NOT send a residential free toilet application.
