Bids, RFPs and RFQs
BexarMet Water District's Purchasing Department operates in accordance with Texas Water Code ยง49, and under the direction of the General Manager and the Board of Directors. Final approval of all bids for products, material and supplies is made by the Board of Directors before the winning bidders are notified.
The BexarMet Water District is a tax exempt agency of the State of Texas. The solicitation of proposals or bids that meet the established criteria (expenditures of $50,000.00 or greater) must be advertised in the local printed media for a period of once a week for two (2) weeks (normally published in the LEGALS #600 section of the San Antonio Express News on Sundays). Further, these proposals and/or bids will also be posted on the BexarMet website for the same period of time. If you are interested in submitting a proposal or bid in response to one of these solicitations, please make your selection and the system will take you to your selection. If you are not a qualified vendor please fill out the Vendor Information Form located in this section and submit it to the Purchasing Department.
Purchases between $25,000.00 and $49,999.99 are not advertised for competitive bidding; however, BexarMet will solicit bids from qualified vendors in obtaining the best product at the best price by means of email or fax. A minimum of three (3) bids must be obtained to affect the purchase.
Purchases under $25,000.00 are not required to be advertised in the media and do not have to be placed for competitive bid; however, from the legal standpoint, the Purchasing Department will solicit for bids in order to obtain the best product for the best price. Again, solicitation of bids will be conducted via email or fax. Only those qualified vendors on file with the Purchasing Department will be solicited.
Notice: All Vendors are welcome to bid on proposals/bids posted on this site. Please fill out the Vendor Information Form to be on our list of qualified vendors.
