BexarMet customers should monitor the BexarMet website at www.bexarmet.org/advisories for the latest information on water restrictions in effect for their area. For more information, contact the BexarMet Water Efficiency Department at (210) 357-5705.
BexarMet customers are asked to conserve water indoors and outdoors wherever possible throughout the year. The use of water-saving appliances and
judicious consumption of water is recommended regardless of water supply and drought conditions. These conditions apply whenever the Edwards Aquifer is above 660' MSL.
Year-Round Water Use Restrictions and Conservation Practices
- These restrictions apply to all BexarMet customers regardless of water source and geographic location.
- Landscape watering with an irrigation system or sprinkler is permitted any day of the week before 10:00am and after 8:00pm.
NOTE: An unattended hose is considered a type of sprinkler. This is also a City of San Antonio Ordinance. - Watering with a bucket, soaker hose, hand-held hose or drip irrigation system is permitted any time on any day.
- Water waste is prohibited at all times. Waste includes, but is not limited to: allowing overflow of irrigation water into gutters, ditches or drains, or failing to repair a controllable leak within 10 days of being notified by BexarMet of the condition. Failure to do so may result in activation of the District's Occupant Leak Policy and a potential interruption of service and water waste fine.
- Washing impervious cover such as parking lots, driveways, streets or sidewalks is permitted, but water used for these purposes shall not be allowed to leave the premises.
- Non-commercial washing of vehicles at a business or residence is permitted any time between 8pm and 10am. An automatic shut-off nozzle and bucket must be used to prevent waste of water.
- Washing vehicles at commercial facilities is permitted any day and any time.
