STAGE 2 RESTRICTIONS are in effect as of June 15, 2009.

Year Round Water Restrictions and Conservation

For information on all BexarMet water restrictions, visit www.bexarmet.org/restrictions.
BexarMet customers are asked to conserve water indoors and outdoors wherever possible throughout the year. The use of water-saving appliances and judicious consumption of water is recommended regardless of water supply and drought conditions. Year-round restrictions are in effect whenever the Edwards Aquifer is above 660' MSL.

Year-Round Water Use Restrictions and Conservation Practices

  1. These restrictions apply to all BexarMet customers.
  2. Landscape watering with an irrigation system or sprinkler is permitted any day of the week before 10:00am and after 8:00pm.
NOTE: An unattended hose is considered a type of sprinkler. This is also a City of San Antonio Ordinance.
  3. Watering with a bucket, soaker hose, hand-held hose or drip irrigation system is permitted any time on any day.
  4. Water waste is prohibited at all times. Waste includes, but is not limited to: allowing overflow of irrigation water into gutters, ditches or drains, or failing to repair a controllable leak within 10 days of being notified by BexarMet of the condition. Failure to do so may result in activation of the District's Occupant Leak Policy and a potential interruption of service and water waste fine.
  5. Washing impervious cover such as parking lots, driveways, streets or sidewalks is discouraged, but water used for these purposes shall not be allowed to leave the premises, or it is considered waste.
  6. Non-commercial washing of vehicles at a business or residence is permitted any time between 8pm and 10am. An automatic shut-off nozzle and bucket must be used to prevent waste of water.
  7. Washing vehicles at commercial facilities is permitted any day and any time.

Once the 10-day average of the Edwards aquifer drops below 660', STAGE 1 restrictions will be enacted.
